Great website! You have some great talent! Wish I could be like you. Maybe you can teach me how to design a website on horror sometime! We could work together and create a website about my favorite subject: horror!!!

Edward X. Young replies:
If you love horror stories, young man, read more Richard Matheson!  When I was young, he was my favorite horror writer -- and was a true inspiration to me.  "Master of Horror" Steven King acknowledges that writer Richard Matheson had a profound influence upon him, too.  And furthermore, if you dig great horror movies, be sure to run to your local video store and rent all the classic fright flicks that I have reviewed in my "Scary Movies" column, which you can find in my "Entertainment Features" on this website.

I have to make a comment regarding Leonardo DiCaprio. I was living in Thailand at the time the movie, "The Beach," was filmed. This guy would not come off his yacht, he was rude to the local people, refused to eat their food & in my opinion is not a conscious being at all. It's great that these people want to make steps in the right direction, however it is hard to believe Leonardo is taking time to educate himself on the importance of Green Power.

Dear Sen. Kerry -- I hope you will engage some of the celebs mentioned in this article for your campaign as we enter the full bore press part of the process.
It never hurts to add some Hollywood glamour to a campaign and it would certainly be a smart move to make environmental protection a part of the issue slate going forward.
BP and other fossil fuel companies are also moving in the direction of alternative energies, because they realize that there are genuine money-making opps to be had if they can devise a way to control its distribution.
You might be able to engage much more of the largely non-voting youth if you had Leonardo on the stump with you, if you will promote the development of alt energy in your administration.
With Hollywood and major fossils backing alt energy (granted to different degrees), you can build a solid base to step out in support of developing alt energy, which would help protect the environment, reduce our dependence on foreign oil and in turn better secure our homeland.
How can you resist that combination?
I wish you well as we go forward. I'm behind you 110%. If they'll have me, I'll also get a position somewhere in the DNC or a Kerry campaign office (I've been looking for a new job since I was laid-off in December.)
     Many cheers --
     Laura Dely

Add Jane's Addiction lead singer Perry Farrel to your list of stars promoting renewable energy. I am a fuel cell engineer, formerly with the Schatz Energy Research Center, and last summer I was given the opportunity to go on tour with the Lollapalooza Music Festival in order to promote hydrogen and fuel cells. I spoke with crowds in 28 cities across the U.S. and got up on stage with Perry Farrel at a few high profile shows in order to use a fuel cell to run a blender and make smoothies for Farrel and other tour members in front of cheering crowds. Thank you Perry and all other stars who use their influence to promote renewable energy.

Great horoscopes!  I like them a lot better than the usual rhetoric they put out.  You know ... "loss of money, bad week for job trade, etc."

Ed, Though I've only known you through a Graphical User Interface (GUI) I have to say, you strike me as an extremely courageous and compassionate person.  Hard work always pays off no matter what the cold hand of reality's present moment may be handing you.  I know because that bastard hand slaps the crap out of me on a daily basis.  Break a Leg, Dr. C

In Denmark, they hired a French-Canadian bird biologist to observe potential conflicts with off-shore wind turbines. There was no problem. Soren Krohn I believe was involved with that project and he is at www.windpower.org. The biologist resided in a small hut out in the ocean next to the turbines. This was maybe five years ago.

I must say again I am not surprised at the continuous struggle native Americans are having. I remember quite well all the problems my relatives on the reservation were faced with as a young boy , it was deeply saddening . I must say I am not surprised at this . I believe all people should look at this article. Mr. Young has done a great service in bringing this article to folks attention . I would like to think it will spur on a fair solution to the problem . I truly thank Mr. Young for alerting me and all the other folks too as these kind of problems must be dealt with quickly and fairly.  Enough is enough ! Sincerely, William Watkins
